An Introduction
The Submarine Outlaw was a very interesting novel with an adventurous plot that takes the reader around the world and keeps them on the edge of their seat throughout tense situations. While it was made for the ages 12-15 It could still be enjoyable to pretty much anyone who wants an easy read and enjoys adventure. “I wrote this book series for those who love action adventure and want to experience traveling the world.”-Phillip Roy.
What I like about the novel
The author, Phillip Roy, takes you on an adventure all around the world with Alfred and his home-built submarine. There was never a point when reading the novel that I actually felt bored, Roy packed it full of well-written and descriptive scenarios. There are certain points where you actually feel like you’re in the submarine with Alfred. This is why I thought it would make such a good movie... good thing Binman Studios is producing one! There are also 8 novels in the series, and it’s not like typical sequels where it becomes worse and worse with each novel, it just gets better and better.
What I don’t like
While I do love non-stop action somethings can get a little repetitive over time. I would like it if the book series had a few more emotional scenes and slower paced chapters because it really is just non-stop action, though well written, it can become quite tiresome. There is a reason this section is very short, there isn’t much not to like about this novel series!
Final Conclusion
It really depends on your personal taste in novels. I really really love action adventure so Submarine Outlaw was perfect for me. If that's not your genre then you may become bored or find it repetitive.
